Prof. Dr. Harald Böhm
Prof. Dr. Harald Böhm studied physics at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen, where he also received his doctorate in 2002. He then taught and researched at the Institute for Sports Equipment and Materials at the Technical University of Munich. There he habilitated in 2018 with the topic "Modeling and simulation of the interaction between human and sport equipment to evaluate the functionality of sport technology" with authorization to teach in the field of sports science with special consideration of biomechanics and movement science.
At the same time, Harald Böhm continued to expand his extensive practical experience in technical orthopedics: he has been in charge of the gait laboratory at the orthopedic children's clinic in Aschau/Chiemgau since 2009. He specialises in gait disorders in neuro-orthopaedic patients and their provision of aids. Harald Böhm is the second chairman of the "Society for the Analysis of Human Motor Functions in their Clinical Application" and network coordinator for movement analysis of the "Musculoskeletal Biomechanics" research network of the German Society for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery.
In addition, as co-editor of the international journal "Gait and Posture", Böhm is responsible for the selection of fundamental works on gait analysis. In addition to numerous awards and scientific publications in biomechanics and clinical movement and gait analysis, the native of Lower Saxony has been involved in interdisciplinary research and development projects, such as the current DFG-funded project "The effectiveness of dynamic joint loads when walking to predict the rebound effect after growth control children with misaligned axes”.
